So obviosly, last friday has already passed and we dont have school this friday, so an extension of the t-shirt designs wont be due until NEXT MEETING! So lucky for you guys, you get to work on them over the break and such and make sure their ready. We will vote on them next meeting, so be there if you want to know what the shirts will look like.

Hey guys! Just as a reminder (and in case you couldn't attend last meeting) we are going to have Asian Studies Club T-shirts! (ISN'T THIS EXCITING! THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE!)
So, if any of you are interested in submitting a design for the 2009-2010 t-shirt, please by all means do!

There are a few requirements that you will have to follow, so here they are:
1. Must be on white unlined paper (no doodles on notebook pages ^.^)
2. Must have Assumption High School on it somewhere
3. Must be related to Asian culture
4. Be creative! We can't wait to see your designs!
5. THEY ARE DUE THIS UPCOMING FRIDAY

All of the designs that will be submitted will be voted on by members that cast the highest vote for the design!

We will have a meeting Friday Oct 2 to vote on shirts and work on the tri-fold for Open House.  This meeting will only last from 3:00-3:30.

This friday, sep 25th (TOMORROW!!) we will have a super awesome funtime meeting afterschool from 3:00-4:00 in room 113! PLEASE BE THERE! IT WILL BE FUN!
In this meeting we will:
-learn basic japanese and practice speaking
-study the 3 different types of japanese alphabets!
-AND watch ouran high school host club
-snacks included :)

There will be a meeting after school Wednesday the 26th in room 113 from 3-4:00 p.m. This is a planning meeting to discuss Club Fair and the rest of the school year. All prior members please attend.

Enjoy the area's largest Asian culture event at the 15th annual Asian Cultural Festival. Experience the arts and traditions of China, India, Japan, Korea, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, and others. Activities include performances in the Speed Auditorium, hands-on art activities, demonstrations, games and more. Attendees can purchase a variety of Asian food throughout the day. This program will be enjoyed by all ages. Admission is free.

This January the 26th is the start of the New Year in the Lunar Calendar which is also popularly known as Chinese New Year. Classicly, the Chinese calendar was divided into 12 repeating animal cycles. Currently, it is the year of the Rat, but come the 26th, it will be the year of the Ox. It is a tradition to wear red on the new year. Gong Xi Fa Cai! (Congratulations and be Prosperous!)
